F.A.Q

Is Tanning Safe?

Yes. As long as the tanning process is not overdone. Ultraviolet light is necessary to create a tan and skin cancer is linked by research to ultraviolet light. However by using a computer-controlled tanning bed from ESB Tanning Systems the amount of ultraviolet control can be precisely controlled which makes it the safest way to tan!

Should I Use Lotions When I Tan?

All forms of tanning involve heat and light which dry out your skin so lotions are indicated to maximize the tanning experience. In addition moisturized skin tans the best.

Is Indoor Tanning Safe?

Indoor tanning is as safe as solar tanning. However indoor tanning offers greater convenience, freedom from the vagaries of the weather and season and complete control over the amount of Ultraviolet light used through the use of ESB Tan Direct systems.

Can Some Medications Be Adversely Affected By The Tanning Experience?

Yes, both tanning equipment and solar tanning involve Ultraviolet light which can interact with many types of medicines. For this reason we recommend that all ESB Tan Direct clients should talk to their Doctors before beginning a regime of tanning.

What Kind of Safety Equipment Should Be Used While I am Using ESB Tan Direct Tanning Equipment?

In order to safely use ALL tanning equipment (including solar tanning) it is very important that you use eye guards that meet government specifications (they will have 21 CFR marked on them.) These will block 97% of visible light, 98.5% of Ultraviolet A light and 99% of Ultraviolet B light, all of which might otherwise damage your eyes.

Is The Tan You Get From An ESB Tan Direct Tanning Bed or Booth The Same As One You Get From The Sun?

Yes. Both tanning equipment and solar tanning both rely on Ultraviolet light to create a warm, healthy-looking tan. However with ESB Tan Direct tanning systems the user has complete control of the amount of light through the use of our computer controlled systems.

Indeed according to Health Canada:

UV rays from tanning lamps have the same effects as UV from the sun!
